MVA October 9, 2010
On the evening of
October 9, 2010 at about 8:00 PM the Ringwood Volunteer
Fire Co. #1, Stonetown, was dispatched to the scene of a
one car MVA on West Brook Rd. Chief Bart Lidsky, 260,
arrived on scene and assumed command while Capt. George
Stout, 264, assumed operations. Upon arrival they found
a single car MVA over a guard rail on a steep slope
leading to the Wanaque Reservoir. The occupant was out
the vehicle.
Tanker 262, under the command of Lt. Aaron Williams, arrived and was directed to stretch a 1 ¾” hand line, disconnect the battery, and also to remove a section of guard rail to allow them to extricate the vehicle from the woods. The guard rail was removed and the vehicle was removed back to the roadway. There was a minor fluid spill which was cleaned up and all units cleared the scene at approximately 9:30 PM.
